I never existed until the wrong guy took notice...
I was born shy. And near him, I fall apart. No wonder he can’t stand the sight of me.
After a fire destroys our home, my family is taken in by a billionaire tycoon. His mansion has countless bedrooms, yet my room is next door to his son, Thomas Ashworth III. Yes, he’s as pompous as the name suggests. And, for some reason, he hates my guts.
Even though his arrogance drives me crazy, his chiselled features turn me into a stammering, awkward mess. I hate being stuck with someone I can’t stand. And when he does something unexpectedly kind, it confuses my heart.
When I bump into him in the middle of the night, I’d never guess it lead to us sharing secrets.
He’s impossible to get out of my head. But he wouldn’t consider dating someone like me. Would he?
You will love Christie and Ash. They are stuck together in forced proximity, becoming practically roommates. He is a billionaire, alpha male type who is learning to love. She is the new girl in school, dealing with past trauma. Together they will go from enemies to lovers in an adorable young adult romance.

Why Mixing Enemies-to-Lovers Trope with Billionaires Is So Much FunI never imagined writing about billionaires. For one, I enjoy writing young adult novels. In my head, billionaires meant grown adult men. It just didn’t interest me. I didn’t want to write about lawyers, doctors, or stock brokers. And then it dawned on me.Billionaires can have children! My world opened up. I could write about a billionaire's son. He could reject his father’s wealth. He’d battle against the gossip about his family at school. He can get anything at a snap of a finger… but maybe he’s not happy. Now intertwine that with enemies-to-lovers. We start our story with a girl from a middle class family. After her house burns down, she’s dropped into this wealthy world. Here, she questions everybody’s motives. She especially clashes with the rich kid.I had so much fun creating the world Christie and Thomas live in. From the moment they meet, they are at war. But the sweet in sweet romance always prevails. These two hesitantly drop their guards and learn about each other. It might be due to some forced proximity, living in the same mansion and attending the same elite private school. When it comes to opposites attract and class differences, I think it’s so fun to see how characters are drawn to each other. There’s something about discovering a completely foreign concept that gives us a vulnerability.I mean how fun is it to create a happily ever after for a couple whose initial interactions started like this:“But I don’t suppose we’ll be seeing much more of each other,” Thomas says, pushing open his door. “Dad can’t keep giving handouts. You’ve gotta go home at some point.”He walks into his suite, closing the door behind him, and my mouth hangs open. What home? Didn’t he listen when I said our house burned down? Is he that careless? There’s no home left.Ouch!I uncoil my hands and see a new imprint of half moons.Geez. Thomas Ashworth III, you make me livid!
